SOPHIA Walk 2013
The Marianas Walking Association, teaming up Title Sponsor, Fiesta Resort and Spa, is proud to report the May 18, 2013 event was a huge success. Registration began at 6:00AM at the entrance to the hotel, entertaining over 120 participants. The weather was beautiful, providing a pleasant treat to the members of the Nippon Turtle Association of Japan who made their annual trek to Saipan.
The staff of Marianas Health Services performed blood pressure and blood sugar screening, and respiratory flow screening at no charge.
The youngest male and female walkers both received a medallion. The oldest female walker was Ms. Jo Izumi who served as the spokesperson for the Japanese visitors and delivered the opening remarks. She is quite remarkable in that at age 92, she is still an energetic walker.
