MS Asuka II 2-5-2011 arrival

The MS Asuka II paid another visit to Saipan on February 5, 2011. The first visit in 2011 follows closely the visit of 12-31-2010. The 790 foot long luxury cruise ship brought 492 passengers from the port of Kobe, Japan. A staff of 470 is providing personalized service. The early morning arrival began before dawn, and the berthing at Baker Dock was accomplished shortly after sunrise. While the customs and security processing was being carried out, the passengers were entertained by a group of Carolinian stick dancers in colorful costumes. The passengers then disembarked for a single day of exploring Saipan, for activities as diverse as a round of golf, visits to historic sites, and duty free shopping at DFS Galleria in Garapan before the scheduled 5PM departure. We hope the brief visit was enjoyable, and that the guests and the MS Asuka II return again to our tropical island destination. Jack Hardy
